In a time when Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat were nothing more than a dim beacon on the horizon, a fledgling web developer was approached with a brief to build a website for a new non-profit consisting of law enforcement professionals dedicated to the education and training of Rhode Island’s tactical teams.

The Rhode Island Tactical Officers Association (RITOA) website was launched in 2001 and hasn’t changed all that much since then. The project was updated every day for the better part of 15 years and is still live today – albeit a little outdated, we don’t work on it anymore – and it stands as a testament to a time when the web was a bit quieter and less intrusive.
